The Ultimate Grocery Shopping List
I was in the produce section saying yes to every fruit and vegetable my children asked to get, when I saw it - the checkout counter. With the end in sight, I hit my second wind. It came just in time to unpack, scan, and then repack everything back into the cart. Despite the dreaded work of checking out, I had hope. My tiresome trip with the three littles was about to be done! Not quite. The joke was on me. After double checking my list, I realized there were a few items I had missed and I now needed to walk back to the other side of the store to get them. Nope. Not again, not ever again am I going to do this to myself, I thought. And so, The Ultimate Grocery Shopping list was created.

I created this shopping list to save myself time, space, and money (also sanity). And now, I am sharing it with you so that you can do the same. I've lately been realizing the importance of actually being productive and also the importance of being intentional. I had to stop and ask myself, am I being productive when I shop? Am I truly accomplishing something quickly, efficiently, and completely? What can I do to be more intentional when I shop? I knew I needed to make a change with how I was grocery shopping for my family, especially with three kids in tow.
Now, you're probably thinking to yourself, why doesn't this chick just do order pick-up like the rest of us? I do, and I absolutely love it. But, sometimes, it just doesn't work out that way and that's ok. This list is designed to work for you when other things don't.
So, it's the middle of the day, the kids are on their 28167th snack, and you're now out of peanut butter. What are you going to do? You're going to take your grocery list right to your fridge, pantry, or cabinets and quickly fill in each category with only the items that you need, like peanut butter. The goal is to see where the empty spaces are on the shelves or in the drawers, what needs to go in them, and then purchasing only those items. If you come back with more than what's on the list, you're spending more money than you needed to, as well as starting down an ugly road that only leads to clutter and chaos.
Once you're at the store, you're going to walk through aisle by aisle, just as you normally do. But, what's different about The Ultimate Grocery List is that the items on it are grouped together by category. This gives you the ability to check off every item that is in that aisle all in one swoop. No need to reroute backwards because you missed the jar of peanut butter. The goal is to get in and get out as quickly as possible. And I don't know about you, but if I forget something, it's usually what I went to the store for in the first place.
In the end, regardless of how you decide to shop, The Ultimate Grocery List is here for you if you need it. Let it be a stepping stone on your journey to be more productive and intentional. Life has it's challenges - your home shouldn't be one of them. For more decluttering and organizing tips, tricks, and advice on how to save time, space, and money, don't forget to follow along!
