Spring Cleaning
Spring has sprung and I don't know about you, but I couldn't be happier! For many people, this time of year means taking that dreaded trip around your home to make a list of the countless projects that need to be completed to prepare for the warmer weather ahead. While you're at it, let's also take note of all the things in your home that just aren't going to make the cut moving forward into the new season. Here is a list of five items that can be quickly and easily decluttered to make room in your hearts and homes for things that truly matter this spring:
1. Cold season clothes/shoes that have been outgrown - No need to pack them away and decide what to do with them next year; just take them out of the house now!
2. Warm season items that didn't make it through winter - Outdoor equipment, solar lights, and pool accessories that are worn and broken don't need to make the cut.
3. Garden items - Outdoor chemicals/sprays that are half empty, tools, and landscaping supplies that are broken can go.
4. Home decor - You know the saying, "That is so last season..." Well, that's because it is! Evaluate any decor that you have in and outside of your home such as pillows, art, and even furniture. Say goodbye to whatever pieces don't make sense or fit into your lifestyle anymore.
5. Traveling this summer? Clean out all of your suitcases and on-the-go items, keep the pieces that you love, and get rid of the rest!
PRO TIP: Set a timer for 15 minutes, one day at a time. Spring cleaning doesn't have to be done all at once. Working little by little will help you to see smaller accomplishments, which will help keep you motivated to do more!
